让·雷诺阿晚年的作品,可以算作他最后一部电影。和他的代表作《大幻影》一样是关于出逃的影片,这次是法国人试图从集中营逃出,不过片中的出逃次数多,却没什么技术含量,后果也不严重,雷诺阿对于这个战俘和纳粹的题材有着浓墨重彩的幽默。主演让-皮埃尔·卡塞尔原来是文森特·卡索的父亲啊。
好在平易而不煽情
“我要独自离开,这是我的个性决定的。”本片让我想起了电影《巴比龙》,不愿被奴役的个性。
时代变了,大幻影中“战俘营就是要用来逃脱”的豪情已经需要“我爱的是一个不愿被奴役的人”来重新点燃,片尾的跨国夫妻倒是同前作“边境是人类的发明”异曲同工;忽然觉得雷诺阿跟大仲马挺像的,不过更宽容,而且他的电影中累加的力量就连长篇小说都很难做到
影片整体幽默风趣,淡化了德军和集中营的残酷。男主数度逃跑,只为了保持骨子里的自由意志。工人、农民、知识分子、服务生等各种出身不同的囚犯在逃跑事件中扮演不同的角色,个性鲜明,抖包袱的部分很有喜感。二战这样的历史背景下,无论是法、德国家之间的敌对关系,还是社会各阶层之间的分歧立场矛盾,都一概被模糊,覆盖了一层蒙版。也许是刻意弱化“不想被奴役”的严肃主题,照着喜剧的套路一路拍过来,一乐即可。
